Blurry me!

The 48 Hour Film Festival was a blast. The ‘The Lavimont Expense Report,’ came out pretty well. Here is a news article on the directors for the film. It should be posted soon on youtube.

In other news I have been busy busy BUSY with ramping up for the album release. I somehow don't remember having so many things to do the last album release but there are lot more promotional things that exist than the last album release.

The new Dr Who series is AWESOME.

If you like Steampunk you might want to get this book "Steampunk" . Former Boston DJ Lady B has a section written in it.

The results of the "What zombie shall DESAR be? " are in... Pirate Zombie won!

I'm teaching a class in the English department of my university called "Victorian Echoes." Basically, we'll be reading Victorian fiction against modern fiction that re-imagines 19th century literature. For one of the "units" we're reading Dickens's Hard Times against the steampunk novel Whitechapel Gods to discuss issues of labor, the mechanization of modern life, the figure of the worker, etc. But I also plan on doing some fun stuff with the more subcultural aspects of steampunk to show how Victorian culture continues to influence things like fashion, science fiction, etc. I think I'm also going to assign some articles from Steampunk Magazine and make my students listen to Abney Park. It should make for an interesting semester!

I only wish my students were similarly enthusiastic!

I saw that book advertised over at Steampunk Workshop, but I don't think I have the extra scratch to order it at the moment. On the list it goes!

Heh, none of us really promote the site enough to be rolling in promos. Though I have to admit that Projekt records, Attrition, and Facets Films have been very generous to us!
